Springfield Asylum

Springfield asylum was the first Surrey asylum. It was opened in 1841 and is still in use today though the parts visted are now disused. Springfield has issues with several escapees from the high security wards. The Freedom of Information Act reveals that 30 patients have escaped from secure wards in the hospital since 2005 resulting in 2 murders and a suicide on near by train lines.
